The Eugène Revuz dance notebook

Welcome! This work-in-progress will publish parts of the notebook of Eugène Revuz (1878-1966), a dance teacher from Geneva. This unique manuscript notebook documents the whole of his professional career; in it, he (and perhaps his colleagues) recorded dance figures, locations and dates of performances and names of performers (including the dancers and even, sometimes, the musicians). It reveals the changing tastes of social dancers from about the turn of the century (1906) up to the start of the Second World War. The book is in private ownership but access to scanned pages is freely available for non-commercial purposes.
